HISTORY

KCK Farmers Market is the result of combining two long-running farmers market organizations: KCK Farmers’ Market (est. 2006) and Rosedale Farmers Market (est. 2009).

The two organizations began discussing combining in late 2018 to reduce duplication and share resources to better serve Wyandotte County.  In 2019 the organizations operated in partnership under a Memorandum of Understanding and shared a Market Manager.  In 2020 the organizations officially merged as KCK Farmers Market.

About The Market

We aim to...

Increase access to nutritious locally grown food through food assistance education, promotion of farmers and nutrition education.

Provide food assistance benefits to lowest income populations (we are currently the highest redeemers of food assistance benefits in the entire metro area).

Stimulate the local economy by providing support for growers and entrepreneurs to sell their products in a stable, high-traffic, market with income-based booth rates and multilingual business management resources.

Partner with organizations and businesses to create inclusive multicultural programming through neighborhood engagement opportunities.
